What is Documents app?

Documents for Jira Cloud is a Document Management System (DMS) that allows storing your files in Jira in an easy, structured and secured way.

The app adds a new tab on the project dashboard screen of Jira named "Documents". Under this tab live the files related to that project, organized in folders with the possibility of assigning access permissions.

It allows linking existing documents to Jira issues or referencing them in the fields or comments of the Jira issues, so your team members can easily access them in their day-by-day work.

It improves transparency over documentation updates with email notifications, activity stream logging and dashboard gadgets.

Why Documents app?

  • Makes the documents quickly accessible for the project members.

  • No more project-related documents stored on people’s workstations. Everyone will know that the latest version of a specific document will be found on the Documents tab of the project.

  • The documents are hosted in Jira providing common interface for all the project related work-items such as tasks, issues and documents.
