You can upload one or more folders with files from your local computer to Documents by using drag & drop:

  • In Jira, go to Projects.

  • Make sure you are on the right project.

  • Click the Documents tab and navigate to the folder where you want to create the folder.

  • In the files explorer from your local computer, select the folder(s) and the file(s) that you to upload as documents and drag them all mid-panel of Documents page.

The uploaded files and folders will have the same folder structure as on your local computer, and their Title set to the filename.

A maximum of 1000 folder and files can be uploaded in a single drag & drop action.

  • If at least one of the folders and files selected for upload already exists in the destination folder, a screen will appear asking you how to proceed with the conflicting files.

  • You can choose between:

    • Update by creating a new version - choose this option if you want the existing document to be updated by attaching the uploaded file to it, thus creating a new version of the document and preserving the old file.

    • Skip the conflicting items - choose this option if you want the existing documents not to be touched. In this case the files that do not exist in the destination folder will be added, while the existing one will be skipped.

    • Skip this folder completely - choose this option if you want the entire folder and its contents to be skipped. In this case none of the documents in the destination folder will be added or modified.

    • Skip this file - choose this option if you want this conflicting file to be skipped. In this case the file from the destination folder will not be modified.
